We enhanced RPPA’s Brilliant Directories-based platform by developing a custom “Group Posting” functionality tailored for pickleball players and vendors. This feature allows members to create groups, invite others, manage group memberships, and easily notify group members about newly posted events — enriching the community engagement and event participation experience.

Enabling Community Group Creation with Dynamic Communication Tools
The client wanted to foster better community interaction by allowing players to create their own groups and notify members about events. However, Brilliant Directories does not natively support dynamic group creation with automated event notifications and group membership management, making this a unique challenge requiring deep customization of PHP-based architecture.
Custom Group & Notification System Development
We developed a fully customized group post system integrated into the existing Brilliant Directories setup. This system enables users to create private groups, invite other players, and manage membership approvals. Additionally, we implemented an automated event notification mechanism that allows group admins to instantly email all group members about upcoming events. Members also gained the ability to accept or reject group invitations, and group admins can efficiently manage and remove members when needed.

As a result, the platform now offers a dynamic, user-friendly group system that significantly enhances player collaboration and event participation. The ability to directly communicate with group members about events has fostered stronger community connections and streamlined event organization.
Our Process
We began by deeply analyzing the Brilliant Directories’ core system to identify how custom post types and user roles could be extended. After conceptualizing the group creation workflow, we mapped user journeys for group admins and members to ensure an intuitive experience. Our development team wrote custom PHP scripts to create, manage, and display groups, along with secure invitation and membership logic. The event notification system was built to automatically pull event details and send well-designed emails to group members. Throughout the process, we focused on making all features seamlessly align with the existing site’s look and feel. Rigorous testing ensured the system’s reliability, and we provided the client with documentation and training for ongoing management.
